America's # 1 Home Buyer!
Q. What is an "ugly" house? A.
Our definition of an "Ugly" house is one in need of repairs.
Q. How does the
process work? A. All you do is fill out the form
telling us about the house you want to sell. The information
about your house will be sent to a American Investors Club franchise owner
in your area and the franchisee will contact you by phone to
arrange a time to view your house.
Q. Do you pay
market value? A. Any offer you receive would be an
amount discounted from the retail value of your house if it
was fully renovated. Franchisees are professional home buyers
who buy homes below market value for a profit. However, we
close quickly, pay cash, and usually pay all normal closing
costs.
Q. How do you
determine the price you will offer for my house? A.
Considerations include the condition of the house and the
extent and cost of renovations required, the time required to
complete the renovations, and the repaired value of the house
when compared to houses in the same area. Also considered are
the costs in real estate commissions to market the house, as
well as the costs of insurance, utilities, taxes, loan
payments incurred to buy the house, and maintenance costs
while the house is being renovated and being offered for sale.
Q. Do you buy
condos or townhouses? A. We
buy houses, condos, townhouses, duplexes, multi-tenant
buildings and some commercial properties.
Q. Do you buy
mobile homes? A. We do not buy mobile homes at this
time.
Q. Do you charge a
fee to make an offer for my house? A. No fee is ever
charged to view and/or make
an offer for your house.
Q. If I fill out
and submit the form containing information about the house I
have to sell, am I obligated in any way? A. There is
no obligation at all regarding American Investors Club and/or our local
franchise owners. If you submit an information form, show your
property to one of our franchisees, or receive
an offer to buy your house. All we ask for is the
opportunity to make an offer on your house.
Q. Who is
American Investors Club? A. American Investors Club of America, Inc is
located in Dallas, Texas and is a franchise company. It is the
largest and most successful franchise company in the business
of buying houses in need of repair. We have more than 250
independently owned and operated franchisees in 30 states. In
addition, American Investors Club
was ranked by Entrepreneur Magazine in their January, 2006
issue as 133 out of the top 500 best franchises available.
Bottom line: YOU CAN TRUST HOMEVESTORS!
Q. Who is Ug the
Caveman? A. Ug is a fictional character used in our
exclusive advertising to help make people aware of American Investors Club
in a cheerful and amusing way. Ug's campaign slogan is "Ug Loves
Ugly Houses" and this campaign is rapidly spreading
throughout the American Investors Club system.
Q. I see several
companies claiming to buy "ugly houses." Are these companies
associated with American Investors Club? A. No! Only American Investors Club
and our authorized franchisees are the real "We Buy Ugly
Houses" people. The other companies using "American Investors Club"
may be infringing on American Investors Club' trademark and are not
associated with American Investors Club in any way. In fact, over the past
year, we've sued infringers and won dozens of lawsuits against
companies and individuals that have infringed on our
trademarks.
American Investors Club is a franchise. Each office is
